Black students have incredible potential, and with the right passion and guidance, they can achieve great success. While sports often offer clear pathways to success, imagine if every career or vocation provided such a clear and supportive path.

That's where Blackwomerica comes in—an interactive educational series designed to celebrate and highlight the lives and careers of nearly 1,500 inspiring Black women from around the world.

Each day, on the birthdays of these remarkable women, short biographical videos will be released, giving viewers the chance to connect or reconnect with Black women educators, artists, activists, parents, entrepreneurs, and entertainers—some famous, some lesser-known, but all influential. To deepen the learning experience, media and lesson plans will be available, along with testing based on this powerful canon of women.

The founders of Indiefemme Films embarked on this journey to create a series that could expand to feature inspiring men and women from all backgrounds. As Blackwomerica approaches its tenth year, they are excited to encourage and support other teams willing to take on similar projects. There’s even potential for a cross-cultural exhibit in the future, showcasing the diverse stories of people from all walks of life.

Blackwomerica is committed to partnering with organizations and creating opportunities that benefit everyone involved. The team will work closely with representatives of the women featured in Blackwomerica to ensure accuracy and to shine a light on their business and philanthropic efforts. Additionally, they plan to schedule speakers and appearances to further enrich the program.

As Blackwomerica grows, the vision includes building a physical exhibit, perhaps at a CAAM residency or through a pop-up attraction, with new events and features each month.

Through ticket sales, events, physical products, affiliate fees, sponsorships, grants, and donations, Blackwomerica aims to sustain and enhance its program, ensuring it continues to inspire and empower future generations.
